About Me

Who is Evelyn?

My first career was as a certified kindergarten teacher in the late 1990s.

During my university studies, I worked as a disability carer for severely disabled people.

I received my diploma in natural sciences department psychology at the renowned University of Vienna (founded in 1365). Vienna itself is the capital of Austria; it lies in the east of the country on the Danube River. I completed my PhD degree in Innsbruck (equivalent to US PhD), a small city surrounded by high mountains in Tyrol in Austria.

At the beginning of my training, the focus was on the children and youth sector, but it continued to expand due to the different fields of activity in which I had to do.

On the Austrian Ministry of Health’s list of psychotherapists, I am registered since 2006. Since 2019 I am also licensed psychotherapist/counselor and registered in the medical register in Bavaria/Germany.

In Austria and Germany, I work(ed) as a psychotherapist (licensed counselor) in my own psychotherapy practice and in institutions (employment, voluntary work and internship). My professional experience there consists of working with families, couples, children and young people; multiple traumatized refugee victims; people with life-threatening illnesses and people with severe psychiatric illnesses. The fields of my work contained child protection, hospice, palliative care, oncology, psychiatry, psychosomatic.

Here in the United States, I reflected my professional life, after being therapist for so many years. Due a family situation of dyslexia I completed my education as a dyslexic trainer (American Dyslexia Association& EÖDL).

I am not a registered psychotherapist here. So, I do not offer psychotherapy. I use my personal experience and psychological knowledge in the sessions with you.

As a consultant, a companion, I will accompany you and help with relief discussions.

I respect and think highly of licensed psychotherapists, this is why I have contact with licensed psychotherapists and will give you recommendations to contact them if it seems to me that there is a psychotherapy request.

I am married, vegetarian since 1989 because of the love to animals and I have four children.

Offerings

What do I offer?

Not only virtual. I offer you the opportunity to come to my office so that we can get to know each other in person. I also offer the service of supporting you at your home with a home visit and providing emotional, social and psychological support.

I also like to work with the method of therapeutic walks. We can talk to each other during a walk.

I accompany and relieve the major changes in life, such as preparing for a major transformation process in the event of a serious illness and declining strength, as part of palliative, support care.

There is no need to be ashamed in front of me, because I know physicality and physical impairment.

I offer you contact if things aren’t going well with your relatives at the moment, are too painful or just don’t feel like you’re getting anywhere. There is usually one person who is the client. However, it may make sense to us to invite other family members to attend the consultation on a case-by-case, one-off or frequent basis.

Life has brought me a severely dyslexic child, which is why dyslexia and dyslexia training has become a matter close to my heart. Here I offer dyslexia training for children, young people and adults one on one or in a group organized by you at a group rate.

Due to my personal background, having lived in various areas in Austria, Germany, Great Britain and now California, I also bring a focus on advice for expats or those who would like to become expats.
